Some of you may have been in attendance at the Starship Smackdown the last day of 2012's San Diego Comic-Con. It's a last-day-of-show tradition where a bunch of spaceships hypothetically go head-to-head in an epic best-of bracket battle, defended by the geeks who love them. This is the sort of bracket we can get into. The final two ships that fateful day in 2012 were the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A.

And then an audience member stood up to defend the honor of the original Enterprise. And not just any audience member. Neil deGrasse Tyson. Likeyado. He eloquently stated why he believed the NCC-1701 and not the NCC-1701-A should win the face-off, convincing both the crowd and judges.
